Veterans for Peace John Lennon (Belated) Birthday Online Concert – The Ark Family Room Series

A belated annual John Lennon Birthday Benefit Concert was held online on Veterans Day (November 11th) to benefit the VFP Chapter 93 Peace Scholarship Fund and The Ark. While the concert was free to watch online, donations were gladly accepted and to that extent, nearly $1700 was raised for the Peace Scholarship Fund alone!

Musical artists performing at the concert were Laith Al Saddi, Judy Banker, Dave Boutette & Kristi Davis, Annie & Rod Capps, Rochelle Clark with Jason Dennie, Rachael Davis, Dave Keeney & Sophia Hanifi, Billy King, Dick Siegel, San & Emily Slomovits, Jen Sygit and emcee Chris Buhalis. A big thank you goes out to all the artists that performed with a special thank you to Annie Capps and Chris Buhalis for lining up the talent and taking care of all the details to make the concert happen. We aldo urge you to support the musical artists throughout the year by attending their performances and purchasing their recordings (their individual web pages can be found in the listing for the 2020 John Lennon Birthday Benefit Concert found at www.vfp93.org/john-lennon-concert).

If you missed the concert, you can still view it at The Ark’s web page by visiting https://fb.watch/1_pryLz-_K/ (the concert is 1 hour and 15 minutes with dialogue in the beginning at the 1 minute 20 second point.

PS - The John Lennon concert has been the major fundraiser for the VFP Chapter 93 Peace Scholarship Fund which grants funds to Michigan students enrolled in peace studies or conflict resolution programs (such as those at both Wayne State University and Michigan State University). Any and all contributions to the VFP Chapter 93 Peace Scholarship Fund are especially welcome now and entirely tax deductible. To make a donation visit www.vfp93.org/peace-scholarship-donations

Vietnam War - Full Disclosure

The Full Disclosure campaign is a Veterans For Peace effort to speak truth to power and keep alive the antiwar perspective on the American war in Vietnam -- which is now approaching a series of 50th anniversary events. It represents a clear alternative to the Pentagon's current efforts to sanitize and mythologize the Vietnam war and to thereby legitimize further unnecessary and destructive wars. The Full Disclosure web site - www.vietnamfulldisclosure.org - has sections on the Vietnam War Chronology, Educational Resources, Advocacy and more.
