Statements on the ongoing tragedy in Gaza

We call on all VFP members and chapters across the U.S. to commit to organize with our allies,
the following three actions from September 1 through 7.

Veterans for Peace Chapter 93

1. Deliver to Congressional offices, military bases or any appropriate government office, the

VFP letter that lists the U.S. laws government employees and weapons makers violate with

every arms shipment to Israel.

2. Do our nonviolent best to enforce those laws with simultaneous civil resistance actions

stopping operations at those facilities.

3. Join local campaigns to get governments and universities to boycott Israeli goods and divest

Israel government bonds.

“The students are absolutely right, and they may actually be saving our humanity,” said

Veterans For Peace president Susan Schnall. “Peace-loving people should applaud them, help

them and join them. We are grateful that many people – including veterans – are doing just that.”

“There's a double standard here: peace groups are falsely accused - without evidence - of having

funding from foreign sources, while Washington politicians are openly taking money from

compromised sources with serious conflicts of interest as a "normal" practice.”

“In today's world of high tech and nuclear weapons, either we humans will all learn to live

together, or we will all die together. Veterans For Peace urges our American leaders to promote

living together.”

Like you, Ms. Vice President, we are calling for Palestinian self-determination, which requires

the dismantling of apartheid and occupation, guaranteed equal rights for all who live in

Israel/Palestine, and recognition of the right of return of refugees who are living in exile. Without

these elements, there will never be peace and security for anyone living in that land.

“I am an active-duty member of the United States Air Force and I will no longer be complicit in

genocide. I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest. But compared to what people have

been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers, it’s not extreme at all. This is

what our ruling class has decided will be normal. Free Palestine!” (after this final quote of his,
